Christmas lights in Barcelona
The Christmas lights of Barcelona are switched on by the Mayor of Barcelona. In 2011 the Barcelona Christmas lights will be switched on Wednesday 30th November 2011. The Christmas lights ceremony moves from the traditional location on Plaça Sant Jaume to a new location in 2011 when the ceremony will be at Plaza Catalunya where you can also find a 12m Christmas tree and a Christmas ice skating rink. There will be Christmas lights in more than 300 locations and streets of Barcelona with illuminations covering about 60km. Each of Barcelona's 10 districts will have a big Christmas tree and there is a 12m Christmas tree on Plaça de Catalunya. The Magic Fountain of Montjuic has a special Christmas water and music show in December. It is free and can be seen on Fridays and Saturdays in December 2011 and on 25th December and 1st January between 19:00 to 21:00
